JAL & the Universal Studios Japan are partners since 2015. This 4th iteration of the USJ special scheme at J-Air celebrates the opening of the "Donkey Kong Country" at "Super Nintendo World" at the theme park in December 2024. The scheme shows the Minions, Harry Potter, Elmo and Cookie Monster from Sesame Street, Woody Woodpecker as well as Mario and Donkey Kong from Super Nintendo World.

Expected livery removal date : June 2026

JAL continued its partnership with Disney & the Oriental Land company in 2024 with this logojet celebrating the opening of the Fantasy Springs themed area at Tokyo DisneySea. The decals feature Anna & Elsa from Frozen, Rapunzel from Tangled as well as Peter Pan against the backdrop of Arendelle Castle, Rapunzel's tower, and Captain Hook's Jolly Roger.

Expected livery removal date : November 2025

JAL continued its partnership with Disney in 2022 with this logojet celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. This Dream Express scheme was the first to not only show Mickey & Minnie Mouse but more recent Pixar characters as well. Its official theme was "Kirariiro journey ~ Let's color the story of a new journey with the sparkling color of each person".

The special livery was different on the two sides of the aircraft and was unveiled on December 6, 2022. Mickey Mouse, Elsa (Frozen), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), and Minnie Mouse could be see on the port side while Mickey Mouse, Woody (Toy Story), Jasmine (Aladdin), Stitch (Lilo & Stitch), and Minnie Mouse were on the starboard side.

JAL & the Universal Studios Japan are partners since 2015. The aircraft was primarily assigned to routes from Osaka, near which the theme park is located. This scheme featured several characters from the USJ world: Minions, Mario from Super Nintendo World, Elmo and Cookie Monster from Sesame Street as well as decals representing movies Jurassic Park, Jaws and Harry Potter.

JAL continued its partnership with Disney & the Oriental Park in 2020 with this logojet celebrating the 80th anniversary of Fantasia, an animated film created by Walt Disney in 1940. The film consists of eight animated segments set to pieces of classical music where -among others- Mickey Mouse casts magic on a broom and manipulates stars and clouds in the night sky.

The special livery was different on the two sides of the aircraft and was unveiled on November 18, the "birthday" of Mickey & Minnie Mouse. The first flight of the aircraft in the special scheme was a sightseeing charter flight operating from Haneda as JL1940 and drawing a large "8" celebrating the 80th anniversary of the movie.

Shimajiro (in fact Striped Island Tiger Shimajirō) is the name of an educational manga & anime series for preschoolers. The series celebrated 30 years in 2018 and JAL teamed up with education publisher Benesse on the occasion.

In the aftermath of the launch of the first Shimajiro Jet (on the E190), JAL asked young passengers to "paint a dream plane that you want to ride" and some of the drawings were featured on this second edition. Both sides were different with the characters drawing a rainbow with crayons on the port side while the starboard side showed the 4 characters and their portraits by children.

Mickey Mouse made its first ever appearance on screen on November 18, 1928 in Steamboat Willie. JAL took part in the celebrations 90 years later. The two sides were different and showed expressions of the famous Walt Disney character as it appeared in its early years.

The renewed partnership was extended to target the Chinese public as the cat-like robot Doraemon is also very popular in China. The 767 was mostly flying between Narita and Shanghai.

A simplified scheme was applied to 787-8 JA837J in 2017, a frame also serving the Chinese market, notably between Haneda and Beijing/Guangzhou.

This livery is the shy representant of the 4th generation of «Dream Express» Disney-themed liveries. The airline promotes the DisneySea theme park with Duffy the Disney bear, a character unique to the Tokyo theme park celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2015. Note JA341J still carried JAL Express although the JAL subsidiary had been intergrated into mainline on Sep. 30, 2014.

Three special schemes have been applied to 2 772 and 4 JAL Express 738 to celebrate the 30 years of Tokyo Disney Resort. It is the heritage of the Dream Express liveries, but fully painted fuselages have sadly been replaced by big decals. Note the «Japan Airlines» front fuselage titles were reduced in size to give more room for the decals. Characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse can be seen on the port side while Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy are visible on the starboard side. Unveiled in April 2013.
